Finding out that you're pregnant is a huge and emotional event. Whether you've been trying for a long time or you've gotten a big surprise, you're in for a whole new world of decision making. What color will baby's room be? Who should you tell first and how? But eventually, you'll need to decide how you'll feed your baby.

For this question, you're sure to find all kinds of opinions, advice, suggestions, demands, and stories. Just mentioning that a little one is on the way can launch some folks into a full account of their entire breastfeeding experience. Often, these retellings are full of mishaps and horrors and bodily fluids, then capped with "But you should definitely do it! It's beautiful!!" If you're wondering if you should breastfeed baby or not, these stories usually don't help you feel very confident.

Or perhaps you've come across the TikTok supplymaxxers with big fat babies and a big fat freezer full of milk. Between the vitamins, supplements, and power pumping, they make it look more than a little intimidating. What if you can't hang with all these social media stars? The pressure is magnified if, like so many people, you don't know anyone who's breastfed in real life. These are some of the only examples available anymore and they're not the best. A profile oriented to gaining followers and monetizing partnerships won't necessarily be presenting information that supports long-term breastfeeding.

And of course, there's the siren song of formula. You've heard everywhere that "breast is best" but can't "fed be best" too? It's available at any grocery store, can be made by anyone. With advances in science, it can probably work just as well as breastmilk, right? After everything you've heard about breastfeeding challenges, it really seems like the path of least resistance. But with so many short and long term reasons to breastfeed, how are you supposed to decide between the two?

That's where Songbird Lactation can join at your side and contribute meaningfully in your decision making process. I invite you to first join a group class. Meet other parents at similar junctures in their lives. Ask questions and get expert answers back in person. All classes include a free 20 minute follow up session to make sure you have what you need for a prepared and informed decision. We can weigh any specific challenges you may be facing: physical differences, hormone imbalances, or a difficult work schedule, for example. At the end of our time together, you'll receive a document with a summary of our conversation written by me (not an AI). It will include tools and references like videos and graphics to guide your efforts.

When you choose Songbird, you're not just booking a class or an hour of lactation counseling. You're connecting with tools you'll need to power your breastfeeding journey from your Golden Hour to weaning your last baby. And most importantly, you're partnering with someone who genuinely cares about your goals happening. No matter how much breastmilk you want your baby to have, I want you to feel supported and capable.

I can't wait to meet you; don't wait to book!
